You'll find an excellent year-round climate in the Caribbean, with the sun shining brightly nearly every day. There is little change in air temperature from month to month, summer to winter. Average temperatures range from 80-88 degrees Fahrenheit. With the tradewinds blowing all year, the constant breezes on the water make even warm summer days quite comfortable.

February to June is considered to be the "dry season" in the Caribbean. During the rainy season of summer, showers are usually short in duration. In the winter months of November through January, northeasterly tradewinds tend to be 15-25 knots. The winds shift to easterly in February and by early summer, the winds approach from the southeast at 10-15 knots.

Late summer is the traditional storm season in the Caribbean. Tropical storms are rare, and warnings are announced several days in advance. The summer season normally offers excellent sailing conditions. Uncrowded anchorages and lower seasonal prices make summer cruising in the Caribbean a very popular option.
